The Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams
Oshiomhole yesterday thanked the people of
the state for their support so far, just as he asked for forgiveness from those who may have been offended, in the spirit of the season.
Speaking at a party organised for the people across the three senatorial districts in the state by the family of the state governor at Iyambo, his country home, in Etsako West Local Government Area, Comrade Oshiomhole expressed his gratitude for the support, prayers and words of encouragement from the people.
“It is possible that some people would have been offended in the last one year in the course of our work, we ask that you forgive us in the spirit of the season”, he noted.
According to him, “ If there is anyone who has also offended us, we have forgiven them in the spirit of the season”.
The state governor added that, “ we should together look forward with optimism to the new year and pray to God almighty to give us good health, courage, wisdom and to unite us together to enable us define the face of governance and development of our state”.
He however expressed appreciation on behalf of himself and his wife, Clara, to the distinguished men and women from various walks of life across the three senatorial districts that graced the occasion.
“We are very grateful and may God bless our state and unite us as one Nigeria, to build a political system that is based on the principle of all inclusiveness rather than exclusion,” he said, adding that “together God will use us to make a difference in the life of the people of Edo State that will be united with a shared commitment to change the face of our state, particularly our state capital”.
Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Edo State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Cromwell Idahosa, The Edo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu, Members of the state Executive council and political leaders across the state.
