Pray For Nigeria’s Stability, Cleric Urges
CHRISTIANS
were on Friday urged to intensify prayers for the peace and stability of the country.
Pastor Yohanna Markus of Second ECWA Church in Demsa, Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa, made the call during a special Christmas prayer session.
He said that the current situation in the country necessitated the need for divine intervention, adding that Christians should pray consistently for the country’s peace and good governance.
Markus urged Christians to learn lessons from the teachings of Jesus Christ with a view to reassessing their lives.
He urged the people to avoid obsession with material things, saying that only those who believed and practised the teachings of Jesus Christ would be free from condemnation on the judgment day.
Markus advised the affluent in the society to assist the poor, particularly those living in the rural areas.
He also urged Christians to strive to help the underprivileged people, in line with Jesus Christ’s teachings.
