Prince Afegbua Predicts Victory For AC In Etsako Central Re-Run

By ISABEMOEH JAMES

A member of the Board of Trustees and National Leader of Action Congress, Edo State, Prince Abdulmabeek Afegbua has praised the harmonious relationship between the party and the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led government. He stated this during the Christmas celebration when he listed a host of party supporters and loyalists in his country home, Okpella. This development according to him has lead to the mass-decamping of people of all segments of the society and other political parties to the Action Congress.

Prince Afegbua, extolled the leadership of Comrade Oshiomhole which has positively affected the physical developement of the three senatorial zones of the state. He specifically identified the beautification of Kings Square, Benin, the rehabilitation of several roads in the state capital noting that contracts for the dualisation of Airport Road, Uselu Road, Akpakpava, and Sapele roads have been awarded.

Prince Afegbua further stated that health centres and facilities are being built and upgraded across the state, the state government has embarked on the procurement of giant drilling machines to work especially in Edo Central and North to meet with the perennial water shortage in the areas noting that in another one year, the people will have cause to smile.

The Action Congress leader praised the judiciary for upholding the rule of laws especially as regards the recent ruling on the Etsako Central Seat in the state House of Assembly. He maintained that the nullification of that seat previously held by the P.D.P.; has given the AC another opportunity to strengthen democracy through the principle of one man, one vote. He stated that a combination of this universal principle with the already existing party structures in Etsako Central, will give the Action congress an easy ride in the elections. He noticed that Chief Noboya and the Chairman of Etsako Central LGA, Mr. Joseph Ugheoke have decamped to the AC, while the contract for the award of the long neglected Ekperi – Anegbette road has been awarded through the grant vision of the Comrade Governor.

Prince Afegbua described the AC as a very disciplined party noting that decampees to the party are welcomed and well accepted and this development should not be seen as a threat to the party.

According to him, all decampees have been directed to build their base from their various wards where some of them are rightly going back to their roots.

To this end, he thanked the people of Okpella and Edo North who believed in his leadership and stood by him during the struggle to enthrone genuine democracy in Edo State and Comrade Oshiomhole as governor. He assured them that the governor will not forget them noting that attention will be given to the rehabilitation and construction of roads in Okpella.

He therefore called on the people to use the Christmas and new year celebrations to pray for the Comrade Governor towards the actualization of his lofty dreams for Edo State. “Democracy have come to stay in Edo State and development is following” concluded Prince Afegbua.
