Discovering The Success Of Vision 2010With Comrade Uche Okonji
A Vision is about having a dream, a goal, and a purpose. Therefore, a Vision is not entirely about having a pair of eyes (eyesight) or about the ability to see your way through a dark alley. According to Zig-Ziglar, one of the greatest and well- known motivational Speakers in United States of America it is infinitely more marvelous to be blind and have a vision than to have eyesight without a vision. “Nothing Succeeds like Success”, Success and vision are inter-related. Success is intricately tied to a vision. They are twins, you cannot have one without the other. The Christian Bible says that “where there is no vision, the people perish”. Think of it: people perish because of the lack or absence of a vision. If you personalize this statement, it would read as follows: “I will (or can) perish without a vision” this is a very serious statement. And it is even more so because it is found in the Bible. We must consider this statement to be of vital Importance when we think of Success: “where there is no vision, the people perish”. In the Bible the word “vision” is used 64 times in the Old Testament and times in the New Testament. The plural form, “visions” is used 24 times in the Bible, twice only in the New Testament (in Act 2:17 and 2 Cor 12:1). This great word “vision” occurs for the first time in Genesis 15:1, where the Lord appeared to Abraham in a vision. Reading through the Bible, it is clear that God did appear and speak to certain individuals through a vision several times. In the old Testament, the prophets Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel all had Visions. One of the visions of The NIGERIAN OBSERVER is writing determined. Anytime I see the logo of the Newspaper, with a young man holding a pen and a book in his hands standing, I smile you don’t have to be an intellectual genius (Journalist) for you to be a good writer. I therefore suggested that the management of The NIGERIAN OBSERVER should organize seminars or workshop for the youths who have flare for writing because there is dignity in writing. In the New Testament, Peter, John and Paul also had visions. As a matter of fact, it is safe to say that one of the first things we ought to realize is that a vision is not having some kind of hallucination. A good and true vision comes from God (Acts 10:3). He is the author of all good things. God is connected with a good and true vision. He brings a revelation to us. A great idea, for instance, may be a revelation from God, coming from the infinite world to our finite world. Intuitions, excellent intellect, wisdom, knowledge, great insights and concepts, acumen and consciousness, all come from God. They help us to have a vision and to solve human problems. They are necessary for our prosperity and Success. Notice that the Bible also Says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). No wonder it is said that ignorance is a disease, and it is certainly not bliss! No one can truly Succeed in this world without these attributes or qualities just described. There can be no true Success without a vision. Therefore, we may confidently say that many people fail and are failing in life right now because they never had a vision or are lacking a vision. They have not reached their highest or greatest potential because of the lack of a vision. Truly successful and great men and women have often been men and women of vision — visionaries. They have often seemed to have had a telescope into their future. As a young person, no one taught me the Significance of having a vision for my life, More than this, I did not realize that I had to painstakingly implement or execute my vision of writing until I published my first article in the pointer Newspaper, Asaba Nine years ago, I organized a talk programme titled “Success mandate” on Radio after I graduated and it was launched in Radio Lagos in October 2002 but due to one reason, or other, I terminated the programme. Notwithstanding, my vision 2010 is for “Success Diet” to be featured Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), where prominent and Successful Nigerians both home and abroad, people like Austine Jay Jay Okocha, (footballer), Alico Dangote (Business mugul), Cicila Ibru (Banker), Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, BOB Oshodi Family, Jim Ovia, Dr Mike Adenuga (jnr), Femi Otedola and numerous names to mention. My vision 2010 is to host them one after the other on the Television screen and they will tell the youths the secrets or ingredient’ that contributed to their success. And I am not forgetting Dr. (Mrs) A. F. Dafidi (Transcorp) whom among those promised to sponsor the forthcoming “success talk” on television, you too can be a part of this, by sponsoring this programme because everybody is a thief, but the good thief is the one who thief and use it to help the less privileged ones. So lets contribute to this programme, let’s make Nigeria a crime free nation. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK. |
