Taraba: Citizens Alert Security Agencies Of Weapon

JALINGO- The Inspector General of Police and the Security Committees of the National Assembly have been called upon to investigate suspected massive pile up of weapons in southern Taraba.

A community leader, Malam Yusuf Yakubu made the call in Wukari during an interactive session with journalists.

Yakubu said that those behind the weapon pile-up in the southern and other parts of the state had ill motives against humanity.

He said the call became necessary in view of the recent arrest of persons with large consignment of weapons in Borno that were alleged to be Taraba and Plateau bound.

Yakubu claimed that weapons were being stock-piled especially in Wukari and Takum adding that this has been going on for many years.

He recalled the Kutep Jukun and Jukun and Tiv ethnic and communal conflicts as examples where different types of weapons were used.
