Community Resolves To Sack CDA Exco

By ROLAND OSAKUE

IGUOMON - Some Indigenes of Iguomon Community in Uhunmwode local government area of Edo State have agreed to dissolve the executive of the Community Development Association (CDA) in the area, as a peace to panacea and harmony in the Community.

The elders and youths of the Community who disclosed this during the week, said the people would only know peace if the executive of the CDA is dissolved and replaced by other elected members from the community.

Speaking on behalf of the elders, Pa. Robert Emwinghatama Evbaruese stated that it is not proper to allow members of plot allotment committee to rule a Community for thirty years, without recourse to the constitutional provision that brought them to power.

Pa Evbaruese, who decried the extent, of the damage the committee had done to community’s resources, said it was no longer acceptable by the elders and people of the Community to allow a few persons to enrich themselves with the Community land without any meaningful development in the Community.

Also Speaking, the youth leader, Col. Sunday Aiyudubie (retired), advised the members of the CDA to hand over their stewardship, rather than creating an unnecessary tension

in the Community, and pointed out that the youths and elders of the Community were already aware of their antics.

In a swift reaction, a member of the CDA, Pa. Thomas Evbaruese has urged the people to shun the claims of the youths and some elders in the Community, as be pointed out that their committee brought electricity, school, market among others to the community.

He said the committee had been reconstituted several times, even at the instruction of the palace just as he chronicled the yearly grading of the earth road in the community.
