GUSAU- The Zamfara Government says the out break of cholera in five local government areas of the State has killed seven persons.
The commissioner for health, Dr Saad Idris, disclosed this in Gusau at a press briefing.
Idris said a total of 54 cases had been recorded in the state as a result of contaminated water.
He said that the affected local government areas are Bungudu, Gusau, Maradun, Shinkafi and Zurmi.
Adding that the ministry had already deployed a rapid response team of medical experts to the affected areas in order to contain the situation.
Idris advised the people to desist from drinking contaminated water to curb the spread of the epidemic to other parts of the state.
