Renewed Gang Clash Claims Scores Of Lives

BENIN CITY - A renewed clash involving members of a notorious cult group known as “Black Cats” has left in its wake tragedy as scores of lives have been reported dead while other victims of the bloodbath that were inflicted with varying degrees of injuries are responding to treatment at various hospitals in Benin City.

According to an eyewitness who craved anonymity, members of the notorious “Black Cats” had been unleashing mayhem in the entire state, launching a reprisal attack to avenge the murder of some members of the dreaded cult “Black Cats”.

It would be recalled that the dreaded “Black Cats” in its usual manner of launching reprisal attacks in the state, stormed the residence of one Mr. Alfred Ekhator after the cult group had unleashed mayhem around the neighbourhood on the 11th of August, 2008 at about 8.00 a.m.

According to the information made available to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER, the dreaded cult group arrived at the residence of Mr. Ekhator with guns and murdered Mr. Alfred Ekhator, his wife, Mrs. Clara Ekhator with their daughter, Philomena Ekhator in cold blood. the only son Lucky Ekhator however, escaped the mayhem. o reason was given as to why the Ekhator’s family was killed.

For some years now, very notorious cult groups have been terrorising the state killing innocent souls and so far, no one has been brought to book.

However, authorities of Edo State Police Command have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators of the dastardly act just as it vowed that no stones would be left unturned in unravelling the issues that led to the mayhem.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach the victim of the bloodbath, Lucky Ekhator to ascertain the root cause of the problems leading to the death of his family proved abortive as his whereabouts was said to be unknown.
