FG declares Sept 9, 10 public holidays

ABUJA- The Federal Government has declared September. 9 and September. 10 as public holidays to mark this year’s Id-el-Fitr celebration which ends the holy month of Ramadan.

This was contained in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by Mr Timothy Oyedeji, Assistant Director (Press), Federal Ministry of Interior.

The statement quoted the Interior Minister, Mr Emmanuel Iheanacho, as advising all Muslims to use the occasion to pray fervently for peaceful co-existence and progress of the country.

He said this was important, especially as the 2011 general elections were fast approaching.
