Senate To Decentralise NNPC Operations

A bill seeking to decentralise the operations of the NNPC on Wednesday passed through the second reading in the Senate.

The bill was referred to the Senate Committees on Upstream, Downstream Petroleum Resources and Gas, after it was debated at the plenary.

The bill, among others, seeks to repeal all the existing legislations in the oil and gas sector as well as create nine establishments in the sector.

Senate President David Mark while referring the bill to the committees, urged them to ensure that all the existing bills in the oil and gas sector were properly consolidated, to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in the sector.
