PDP Raises 16 Member Committee On Crisis

 

 

The PDP on Wednesday inaugurated a 16-member committee of elders to reposition the party and facilitate a more effective reconciliation among its aggrieved members.


The National Chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, said while inaugurating the committee that the choice of “mature men and women, with strength, character, intellectual capability and loyalty,” was deliberate.


He noted that members of the committee had distinguished themselves in the service of the party and the nation.


Ogbulafor said although the challenges before the committee were daunting, the party was confident that the members would deploy their wealth of experience to creditably acquit themselves in the onerous assignment.


He urged members of the committee to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the party’s national leadership in its reconciliation efforts.


The chairman appealed to them to ensure a speedy resolution of any misunderstanding that might still exist within the party in any state of the federation.


“The committee should encourage past and current political office holders to work harmoniously in the interest of the party,” he added.


Ogbulafor urged the committee to create an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the party, and to be guided by the constitution of the party in carrying out its assignment.


Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Chief Ike Nwachukwu, said the committee would ensure a speedy resolution of any misunderstanding within the party.


He promised that the committee would do everything within its powers to ensure that the party increased in numerical strength.
