Lagos Trade Fair: GSM Operators Promise Cheap Products

LAGOS - Telecommunications operators have promised to sell products at reduced prices at the on going Lagos International Trade Fair.

The service providers told The NIGERIAN OBSERVER at the weekend that products would be very cheap since the fair was essentially not to make profit, but to showcase new products.

An official of Zoom Mobile, who preferred anonymity, said that the company would be offering its customers high speed broadband internet and conference calling.

The official said that the product and service were the two offers that the telecomms company introduced when it re-branded from Reltel Wireless to ZoomMobile.

He said that the broadband connection would be offered to customers at the fair for N15,000 per month.

He said that it went for N25,000 before the fair, adding that cost was reduced to enhance people’s accessibility to the internet.

The official explained that the conference calling offer would save the customer the stress of travelling and transportation cost.

He said that the broadband Izap service had been reduced to N20,000 from N25,000 because of the trade fair.

The service, according to him, comes with a bonus of free 100 hours and free configuration.
A Globacom official said that the company would showcase its newest product called the 3G while SIM would be replaced for its subscribers.

The 10-day fair will end on November 15, 2009.
