AGENEBODE – The recent decamping of the Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council, Hon. Stanley Odidi from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) to the Action Congress (AC) has been described as a bold step that would further enhance the socio-economic development of the locality.
Making the assertion at the headquarters of the local government, Agenebode, an Action Congress stalwart in Edo State, Hon. Suleiman Afegbua stated that the decamping en masse of PDP Chieftains in the locality was informed by their quest to move the area forward.
Hon. Afegbua, who was addressing party faithful over the weekend, however, commended the courage of the chairman, Hon. Odid, whom he described as a visionary leader who was always on the move to ameliorate the plight of the people.
He pointed out that a house divided against itself would not stand, as he explained that coming of members of the opposition into the mainstream in Etsako East Local Government would bring unity and development to the area.
According to him, Hon. Odidi has tried for the people in the locality. He needed to develop the area, hence he decided to leave the opposition party and join the moving train of AC and therefore enjoined the people to support the laudable plans of Hon. Odidi for the people of the area.
Hon. Afegbua called on the people to be patient with the Comrade Governor, Adams Oshiomhole in the development of the state, as he assured them of even socio-economic development in the locality next year.
He said the current administration in the state led by the Comrade Governor had brought succour to the people, even as he pointed out that the era where government money was being used to service one politician in the name of godfather at the expense of the entire populace was gone.
