BENIN CITY – As the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole set to mark his one year in office, a chieftain and leader of the Action Congress (AC) in Ugu ward in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Osaretin Edoma has lauded the governor for his developmental strides across the state.
Mr. Edoma who gave the commendation in a chat with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City recently, remarked that the beautification of the King Square at the state capital is a laudable project intended to turn the state into a little London.
Edoma who is a Managing Director of a publishing firm in Benin City pointed out that the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the state is in fulfillment of his electioneering promises.
He explained that the demolition exercise going on in the state is designed to pave way for good drainage system, which according to him will check the flooding problem in the state capital. He added that, “most of the erosion troubled areas in Benin City have been taken care of”.
The AC chieftain harped that the five junction along Urubi area, St. Maria Goretti junction along upper Sakponba and some other areas which had always been flooded anytime it rains, have been corrected by constructing good drainage systems, stressing that, “under one year, the governor had done beautifully well”.
Edoma who remarked that the AC as a party is big enough to accommodate every true democrat, noted that the new decampees from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are warmly welcome into the AC, adding that they have equal opportunities with the old members.
According to him, “they are highly welcomed. We are going to accommodate them very well. They have equal opportunities with the old members. I assure them that they are going to get the best of this party”.
The publisher explained that in it’s resolve to make life meaningful and comfortable for the people of the state, the Oshiomhole led administration had been relentlessly tackling the state of insecurity in the state, adding that it was the governor’s war against crime that informed the recent approval of a joint military task force for the state by the federal government.
