Amunike Sets For Ocean Boys

OWERRI - Ocean Boys FC of Brass may have lost the confidence reposed on coach Kennedy Okogba as former Super Eagles’ star Emmanuel Amunike sets to take over the technical crew of the team.

Chatting with sports journalists recently in Owerri the Imo State capital the team manager of the Brass side, Mr. Tony Ogola affirmed that management has reached an agreement with Amunike.

“We have finally decided to hire a new coach we believed will stir the club to a greater height. We interviewed some coaches and I can tell you that when the league resumes again after the World Cup, you will see a new coach.

Amunike is one of them he revealed.

However, efforts to reach Amunike whose last coaching business ended in an unfortunate manner with Julius Berger FC of Lagos to confirm the position has proved abortive.

“It would be recalled the management of Ocean Boys had earlier in the season maintained that coach Okogba will see the club through the 2009/10 league season, but the poor start in the last five games so far may have affected their patience.
