BENIN CITY ––The Odionwere, elders and the people of Irhirhi Community in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State have reacted to the recent announcement made by the Chief Priest of the community, Mr. Reuben Isereren, saying that the land belonging to the community where the shrine is located has been sold by unknown persons.
A statement by the Odionwere, Pa Alex Omorowa said all what the chief priest announced was false and an attempt to hide the truth from the public, adding that he (Chief Priest) was the person selling the land around the shrine, shared some parts to the children and sold the other parts to unknown persons.
Pa Omorowa and the people of Irhirhi community called on the general public to take note and disregard the earlier announcement made by the chief priest.
He added that the chief priest had been on suspension from the palace for the past eight years now and that if he was really upright, he should have gone to the palace to report the matter instead of going on air to make the announcement in the first place.
The Odionwere then used the occasion to warn those trying to cause trouble in the community to desist from doing so.
He thanked the Omo N’Oba for the relative peace in the kingdom and prayed God and the ancestors to continue to guide him.
Present at the meeting were the elders and other members of the Irhirhi community which includes Pa Osewingie Osawe, Youth Chairman; Mr. Emmanuel Ekhator, acting Chairman; Mr. John Igbinosa, Mr. David Ekhator, Mr. Roland Igbinosa and Mr. Sunday Igbinoba among others.
