EDHA Assures NOA Of Support

By FRIDAY OBANOR

BENIN CITY –The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly has assured the National Orientation Agency (NOA) of Parliament’s readiness to assist the Agency in whatever way possible to achieve its set goals in the state.

Speaker Zakawanu Garuba gave the assurance on Tuesday when the new State Director of the Agency, Chief Richard David paid him a courtesy call in his office.

The Speaker however noted that he has confidence in the ability of the new NOA state director to change the face of the Agency in the state.

Earlier, the director of the Agency, Chief David had told the Speaker that the organisation would appreciate the support of the Parliament even if it has to be on collaborative enlightenment drive with stakeholders to achieve the success of this all-important civic duty.

Chief David further said that the directorate is currently faced with many problems ranging from inadequate running costs, lack of serviceable vehicle as well as inadequate office equipment and furniture.

“We shall be very grateful if you kindly use your good office to assist us in redressing some of these problems, which are militating against our performance.

“Trusting your commitment to the development of this state, I am hopeful that you will act expeditiously to assuage our predicaments and therefore, re--write the name of Edo state in the NOA book of most outstanding states”, he said.

The NOA Director therefore reiterated that the Agency was equipped with the programme departments which includes such areas of collaboration namely, Orientation and Peace Education (OPE), Mass Mobilisataion (MM) and Political Civic Education (PCE).
