ABUJA- Abdullahi Maikaba, the Chief Coach of FC Abuja, says the club’s disappointing results in the on-going Globacom Premier League have not been a surprise to him.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly-promoted side on Sunday slumped to their third consecutive loss in the competition with a 2-0 defeat by Kaduna United.
The loss in the week four encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano , left them with just a point from four matches and a place at the bottom of the league table.
But Maikaba, who led the team from the National Division One Group A last season to this season’s Premier League, said his team had been doing its best so far.
“We may be down the ladder on the table, but it does not mean the players have not been doing well. In fact, the boys have been doing their best.
“Consider that we did not do badly in the last three games despite the losses, especially the 0-1 away loss to Bayelsa United FC in week three.
“Also, in week one we drew against Heartland FC at away.
