BENIN CITY – Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Mike Nosa-Ehioma, has reiterated the commitment of his administration to the educational development of youths in the locality.
The council boss gave the reassurance while playing host to the executive members of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Oredo Local Government chapter, who were on a courtesy visit.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima noted that his administrations’ concentration on the educational development of youths stems from the council’s belief that intellectual and human development was the bedrock of societal, transformation.
The council chairman disclosed that the first project he executed on assumption of office was the completion of a 10-classroom block equipped and furnished at the Ore-Oghene Primary School and the laying of foundation stone of a 4-classroom block at Uyiosa Primary School.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima commended teachers and school administrators for their commitment and diligence in positively moulding pupils and students under their care in readiness against future challenges, and sued for it sustenance.
The council chairman emphasized that his administration pays the total sum of over one-hundred million naira monthly as salaries of primary school teachers in the locality and noted that only a truly committed administration could pay such huge sum without complaint.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima assured ANCOPSS, Oredo Local Government chapter of the support of his administration so that the business of impacting positive ideals in youths would not be hindered.
Earlier in her speech, chairman ANCOPSS, Mrs. Christiana Otaigbe, had intimated the council boss of the forthcoming hosting of the state chapter of the conference by the Oredo chapter, and sued for the council’s logistic support.
Mrs. Otaigbe commended the council boss on his achievements so far, especially in the education sector, and pledged the support of ANCOPSS to the realization of the bigger dreams of his administration.
