The Rector of Auchi polytechnic, Auchi, Dr. (Mrs.) Philipa O. Idogho says her vision is to make the polytechnic one of the degree awarding polytechnics in the country.
Dr. (Mrs.) Idogho dropped the hint while playing host to members of “Afenmai club 2000” who paid her courtesy visit during the week.
The rector who is an alumnus of the polytechnic, told the visitors who included her husband who incidentally is the president of the club, that her vision for the polytechnic, is to take the institution to an enviable height among polytechnics in the country during her tenure.
Welcoming the guests to her office, Dr. (Mrs.) Idogho, disclosed that the polytechnic recently received a grant from the World Bank towards learning and ICT training of the polytechnic staff.
Dr. (Mrs.) Idogho thanking the visitors for their visit, said her administration operates an open door policy.
To this end, she stated that the administration welcomes constructive criticisms, noting that she would not hesitate to take advice from the club when the need arises.
Earlier, the spokesman of “Afenmai Club 2000”, Chief Joshua Ogene, said they were in her office to facilitate and rejoice with her on her appointment as rector of the polytechnic.
The club later presented a congratulatory card to the rector.
