National Div One League: Bendel Insurance Face Tricky Home Test

... Tackle Anambra United Today

By CLEMENT ELAHO

BENDEL Insurance FC of Benin City, the once Premier League giant lost grip of the BIG league last season after a long drawn battle as regards ownership.

Though the ownership battle has been won and lost, but it is the club that received the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) hammer, which saw the Edo darling club relegated to the National Division one league which kicked off last weekend across the country.

In its opener against Julius Berger in Lagos last Saturday, Bendel Insurance FC lost by a lone goal.
This afternoon, Bendel Insurance a.k.a Benin Arsenal will play its first National Division one home match against Anambra United.

The Edo team now under the tutelage of Coach Edema Fuludu, will attempt to fire from all cylinders in order to bag its first maximum points in the lower division.

Coach Fuludu will have to unleash his best players on Anambra United who on their part promised their teeming followers that they were in Benin to at least pick a point or more at the expense of the home team.

Anambra United nicked the maximum points last weekend at home when they beat First Bank 2-1.
Football followers should endeavour to come out enmasse to the stadium and cheer their darling clubs.
