Oredo Legislative leader promises dividends of democracy

BENIN CITY ––The leader of Oredo Local Government Legislative Arm, Hon. Foster Iyangbe, has told residents and people of the local government area to expect greater dividends of democracy from the Nosa-Ehima-led administration.

Hon. Iyangbe, who represents Oredo Ward 4 in the Council’s legislature, made the declaration while giving cash awards to 24 women in the ward under his own micro-credit scheme designed to empower the women in line with his electioneering campaign promises.

The Oredo Legislative Arm Leader noted that the Micro-Credit/Empowerment Scheme was especially targeted at women in Ward 4 to underscore his resolve to improve their lot through conscious economic investments. Hon. Iyangbe maintained that the days were gone when politicians made unfulfilled promises, and noted that this was a new era where words or electoral promises were matched with actions.

He reassured the people of Oredo Ward 4 that as a product of the new era, he was determined to serve them in the true sense of the word.

A notable woman leader in the locality, Deaconess Ijiose Ogbodu, later presented the cash donations to the women with a charge to them to invest wisely in economic ventures and remain committed to activities of their party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
