AFUZE - A three man armed gang stormed the home of one Mr. Isewede Ovbude of No. 50 Auchi Road, Afuze, in Owan East Local Government Area at about 7pm on Monday 8 March, 2010 carting away an undisclosed sum of money with other valuables.
According to Mr. Ovbude, the gun men entered his house at about 7pm that fateful day shooting sporadically to scare inhabitants of the house who were asked to lay flat on their belly to the ground, while the robbery operation was going on.
Meanwhile, the wife of Mr. Isewede Ovbude, Mrs. Ololigbe Ovbude is presenting receiving treatment in a near by hospital from the shock she had during the robbery attack.
In another development, the same armed robbers have also invaded the Owan East staff canteen along low cost road, Afuze, at about 8pm that same day robbing customers of their valuables such as handsets, wrist watches, clothes and the sum of seventy thousand naira belonging to Mrs. Bose Ayeni, the operator of the staff canteen.
The three man gang went away with an Ash colour Toyota Camry car (2.7) parked in front of the canteen belonging to Hon. Osamaiye Pope councillor of Ward 1, Owan East Local Government Area, Afuze with registration number AG 722 AFZ, Engine and Chasis numbers 5s7209085 and 4t1bg22k Byu 713047.
When the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) was contacted for further comments, the correspondent was referred to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Peter Ogboi at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Benin City.
