BENIN CITY – Following the on-going massive infrastructural development embarked upon by the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole led administration in Edo State, ex-militants and Ijaws in the state have expressed their support for the governor even as they endorse him for a second term come 2012 gubernatorial election in Edo State.
The former leader Niger-Delta Freedom Fighters, Edo State now the Special Senior Adviser to the state governor on surveillance and water-ways security Comrade Okubo Robert made this known while speaking on some of the resolutions reached at a recent Ijaws meeting in Inikorogha ward in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
He also disclosed that over 500 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decamped to the Action Congress (AC) during the meeting.
Comrade Okubo Robert thanked the state governor for appointing two Ijaw sons as Special Senior Advisers and the grading of Inikorogha and Ofunama roads describing them as first of its kind in the Ijaw communities in Edo State.
On the recent crisis at the Edo State House of Assembly and the position of the Federal House of Representatives on the matter, Comrade Okubo advised members of the House to concentrate on pressing national issues as the crisis was purely an Edo State affairs that could be handled at the
