LG Boss Says PDP Problem Self Inflicted

 

Ehor – The Chairman of Uhumwonde Local Government Area, Barr. John Obazee has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was based on a wrong principle of one man deciding for everybody, adding that this led to the recent mass defection from the party (PDP) to the Action Congress (AC) party in the local government.


The local government chairman who noted that the PDP has no base in Edo State said that the people have decided and choose to embrace the AC party with the new principle of one man one vote.


He commended the state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the development so far witnessed.


The Chairman of Action Congress Party in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, Hon. Harrison Oyegue while speaking at the occasion urged both the new decampees and the old ones to stand firm and be united adding that the purpose of the tour was to intimate the new decampees with the party’s constitution so that they can be up-to-date in the scheme of things.


He stressed the need for the new members to be sensitized on the Comrade Governor’s programmes for the grassroot people.


Hon. Oyegue restated that the party’s ticket into any elective position was opened to all in respective of period of membership of the party.


The former Commissioner for Agriculture and National Resources in the state Hon. Joe Atohengbe noted that the recent mass decamping to AC was as a result of hard work unity and cooperation among them.


Responding unbehalf of the people, an illustrious son of the community Mr. Vincent Ekhator of African Petroleum, Ugbowo, said that the people of Ehor, particularly Irue ward have been all along supportive of the Action Congress Party, but however commented that the community has not gotten any political appointment from the government.


While appealing to the state government to make its presence felt in the area, Mr. Vincent Ekhator, however, pledged the communities total loyalty, support and commitment to the developmental stride of the governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
