BENIN CITY – The Universal Basic Education (UBE) teachers have paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council Hon. (Dr) Omorogieva Gbajumo.
In his address, the President of UBE teachers Mr. Obazee Lucky Desmond said that the state executive council who are currently serving in Oredo Local Government deemed it fit to register their presence by the visit to the honourable office of the chairman.
Mr. Obazee explained that UBE teachers are new generation teachers who are acquainted with the recent, teaching methods.
Mr. Obazee said that UBE teachers have decided to carry out a sensitization programme in form of rally for three days in various local government area, which Oredo happen to be the first place of interest.
Responding the Executive Chairman Hon. (Dr) Omorogieva Gbajumo said that every human being deserve basic education but however pledge to assist their course in every form possible.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council Hon. (Dr) Omorogieva Gbajumo have been conferred with the Peace Ambassador Award.
While presenting the award, the co-ordinator of Universal Peace Federation Mr. Osasu Usenbor said that Hon. Gbajumo was chosen for the award because of his track record.
He described Hon. Gbajumo as an epitome of love, peace and tranquility adding that the Universal Peace Federation cherish personalities who occupy offices to promote good governance as reflected in the administration of Hon. Omorogieva Gbajumo.
The co-ordinator further disclosed that the vision behind the Universal Peace Federation is about bringing peace to the world.
The Ambassador for peace is a global network of leader and past beneficiaries of the award include the former Deputy Governor of Edo State Chief Mike Oghiadome, Chief Ojuki Obaseki, Justice Constance Momoh, Senator Sekibo and Justice Edokpayi, former Chief Judge, Edo State.
Responding Hon (Dr) Gbajumo thanked the representatives of Universal Peace Federation for the honour.
Hon. Gbajumo described the award as that which he holds dear to his heart.
He also pledged to assist in the course to preach love and peace.
