The remains of late former Nigeria’s Under-23 footballer, Endurance Idahor will be laid to rest today in his residence at Ekehuan area in Benin City.
According to erstwhile Green Eagle’s player, Elvis Idahor (brother of the deceased) his body will lie-in-state at the main-bowl of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium at precisely 10 a.m. today.
Sports, particularly football administrators, technocrats, his former team mates as well as sportsmen and women will pay him their last respect.
The body of the ex-Igbino Babes’ player will leave the Ogbemudia stadium after a novelty match to honour him, to his home in Ekehuan area of the state capital for interment.
Coach Elevis Idahor who lamented the demise of his brother said, the absence of Endurance is a monumental loss to the entire family.
“I never expected this to happen to my own brother! Well, a big vacuum has been created. I don’t really know what to say now!”
The ex-Under-23 footballer died on March 6 in Sudan during a league match between his club, El-Merreikh FC and Al-Mal FC.
His body was flown from Sudan to Abuja from where it came to Benin City on Tuesday evening aboard a Sudanese air-craft in company of his wife and some El-Merreikh’s players and officials.
