279 Persons Die In Road Accidents In Osun - FRSC

NO fewer than 279 persons have died in road accidents in Osun in the last seven months, Mr. Olusegun Olapade, Head of Operations, FRSC Osun Sector Command, has said.

Olapade told newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday that the figure represented reported cases between January and July.

He said the number of casualties in 2008 rose by 90 as 207 persons died within the same period in 2007.

He said that the disclosure of the figure was not intended to frighten Nigerians but to make them to be more safety conscious and cautious in the ‘ember months.

The head of operations said that the command recorded 487 road traffic accident cases during the period under review as against 417 in the corresponding period in 2007.
