AUCHI - The President, Auchi Polytechnic Students’ Union, Mr. Kingsley Aigbe, has expressed concern over rampant accidents at Ewu hill, Benin-Okene highway, where no fewer than 18 persons died recently.
Aigbe told newsmen yesterday in Auchi that as many as 10 students of the polytechnic had died in accidents at the hill.
The hill, he said, had become a nightmare to motorists and students, who have to use it as they transit to their various destinations.
He appealed to the federal and Edo State governments to repair the failed portions of the highway to reduce the frequent accidents.
The students’ leader also appealed to the relevant authorities to erect traffic warnings on the bad spots of the road, to alert motorists of the inherent danger.
