BENIN CITY - Chaplain corps and theological academy Edo State command has commissioned fifteen new cadets to add to its fast growing number.
The ceremony which is also the 12th of its kind was held last Saturday at Igbesanmwan Model Primary School.
In his special speech, the Commandant General, Dr. Shedrack Udegbulem, represented by Assistant Commandant General, Chaplain Peter Christopher, disclosed that the organization structured along military line was around to establish an internal structure of order and responsibility and also, to make it easily recognizable for emergency situations.
Further, he stressed that “C.C.T.A. objectives is basically to establish, maintain and operate youth centres, recreation centres, camps rest, homes as well as to visit hospitals and the less privilege in our society.
Moreso, C.C.T.A. has the responsibility of training and educating chaplain, pastors and Gospel Ministers who later acts as chaplains in both civil societies, the military and para-military establishment, who will also help in times of war, civil disturbances, national emergencies and disaster
.
Commissioning the fifteen cadets of twelve males and three females, Chaplain Peter Christopher, alongside Edo State commandant, Chaplain Davies Oriakhi, enjoined the new set of cadets whom were ceremoniously dressed in white uniform to conduct themselves in orderly manner that rightly fulfills the statutory obligations to the Federal Republic of Nigeria at large and Edo State in particular and as well as humanity and God.
Dignitaries present at the occasion were Hon. Aiyemenkhue Edokpolor, S.S.A to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, on Politics and Strategy Mrs. Meg. Oriafo, wife of the honorable Commissioner for Transport, Elder Patrick Aigbe, Pastor and Mrs. Lilian A. Ogah and Chief (Mrs.) Ese Okonkwo. C.E.O Emma, Emma Group of companies amongst others.
