Ex-PDP Scribe May Return To PDP If...

ABUJA - Former National Secretary of the PDP, Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, On Wednesday in Abuja hinted that he might return to the PDP.

“If the intention of the PDP is not to wipe out the opposition but to advance the dreams of which the founding members had for the party, I will be willing to return to the party, Nwodo said in an interview with newsmen.

“But if the intention is to woo us, so as to wipe out the opposition then I have no business returning to the party.’’

He said most of the founding members did not leave out of choice, but that they left to further the dreams they had for the party.

Nwodo said they only left to create an alternative platform to realize the dreams they had, which was truncated and stifled by the then government that gave the people no alternative.

Nwodo, a medical practitioner and now a stalwart of the Action Congress, said there was “no need to quarrel forever”.

He said though there was a need for reconciliation, it could happen only if the people were given a chance to advance the dream they had for the party and the people of Nigeria.

The PDP set up a national reconciliation committee, headed by former Vice President Alex Ekwueme in 2007 to reconcile those who left the party.
The committee has already turned in its report.
