Benin CITY- Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor has reiterated that Chief Tony Anenih is his leader who has helped him politically.
He also declared his respect for the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and does not see the party leaders as dictators to governors especially as democracy is about representing all shades of opinions.
The governor made the remarks during a breakfast interactive session with Journalists across the country in Benin City last weekend.
He explained that though he took advice from leaders, he was fully responsible for his actions pointing out that it was all rumour that leaders dictate to governors while also pointing out that no governor had the monopoly of knowledge. In Edo State, he maintained that there was no faction in the fold of the PDP.
On the conflict of interest, he explained that there was always competition between ideas and interests in any political party and therefore it was nothing strange in a big political party like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that what was important was the ability to control the conflict of interests for the benefit of the people
.
Wondering on the unusual and special interest in the Appeal Court and its ruling on the gubernatorial election in Edo State, he said the high expectation was an off-shoot of deliberate and orchestrated attempt by detractors to whip up sentiments and advised newsmen to disregard such persons and their rumour.
The governor, affirmed that his administration would not be distracted but that it would remain on top of any situation and that any person that would want to foment disturbance would incure the full wrath of the law.
He declared his respect for the judiciary, stressing that nobody should blackmail the judiciary which he said should be allowed to do its work, pointing out that he was looking at the face of God and hoping for victory at the Appeal Court.
