BENIN CITY - Rotary Club of New Benin, District 9140 Nigeria, at the weekend, installed Rotarian (Rtn) Agharese Idubor, as its 1st president.
Speaking at the ceremony which took place at the museum Ultra-Modern hall, Benin City, which also featured induction of new members and the 2008/2009 Board, Rtn Agharese Idubor stated that the New Benin Chapter of the club under his leadership would lay emphasis on projects that would make a difference in the lives of women and children
He noted that Rotary Club of New Benin “in this service year” would do all within its reach to supply the right help in the right place at the right time, noting that writing materials would be donated to school children; guidance and counseling talks would be organised in Secondary Schools; bursary/scholarship would be given to 20 students; boreholes would be sunk in six selected schools and markets; four water-system public toilets would be built while loans would be disbursed to traders, among others.
While stressing that N11,450,000.00 would be needed to execute the numerous projects, Rtn Idubor, expressed the hope that necessary machinery would be put in place with a view to ensuring that needed fund were raised, so as to ensure that the various projects were executed.
