BENIN CITY Oredo Local Government Council has assured that it will continue to regularly make its own share of beneficiary contribution to the World Bank Fadama Programme to ensure people in the locality benefit from the project.
Council Chairman, Hon. Mike Nosa-Ehima, gave the assurance while playing host to officials of the Fadama Programme under the auspices of the World Bank, who were in the council on a courtesy visit.
Hon. Nosa-Ehima explained that his administration pays priority attention to the development of human beings as first project, and expressed readiness to partner with service delivery organizations to improve the well-being of the people.
While noting that Oredo Local Government had been faithful to its Fadama III Agriculture project arrangements in the past, the council boss assured coordinators and facilitators of his administration’s unwavering support.
’ Hon. Nosa-Ehima commended the World Bank initiative at developing grassroots communities in partnership with local government councils, and added that such relationship had yielded wonderful dividends in the lives of the people.
Earlier, the leader of the World Bank team on the Fadama Programme, Alhaji Musa Gelengu had stressed the need for partnering local government councils to regularly meet their beneficiary contributions to the programme for the World Bank to release its fund for projects execution.
