LAGOS -Lagos-based soccer analyst, Godwin Dudu-Orumen, has advised the NFF to approve coach Henry Nwosu’s programmes for the Under-17 national team, to excel at the 2009 World Cup in Nigeria .
Dudu-Orumen told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN ) on Monday in Lagos that Nwosu had all it takes for Nigeria to do well at the Cadet mundial. “The NFF must give Nwosu all the necessary encouragement for him to succeed at the championship.
“NFF must ensure that the programmes submitted by Nwosu are approved well ahead of time for Nigeria to make appreciable impact at the World Cup,” Dudu-Orumen said. He commended the NFF on the choice of Nwosu, describing him as “highly experienced”.
“Nwosu has a wealth of experience as a player who featured in the academicals, to the intermediate and to the senior national team. “He is well qualified for the job,” he said.
Dudu-Orumen, a lawyer, called on the Golden Eaglets coach to ensure that his team play as many friendly matches as possible, for Nigeria to retain the trophy she won in South Korea in 2007. “Nwosu should emulate coach Fany Amun whose team played about 27 friendly games against Premier League clubs before the 1993 World Cup in Japan .
“Nwosu must base the selection of players on merit and current form,” Dudu-Orumen said.
