EKPOMA-The Governing Council of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma has upon the recommendation of it’s Senate approved the appointments of two Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
They are Prof. A. U. Omoregie of the Faculty of Agriculture as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. (Mrs.) A. O. Ekundayo of the Faculty of Natural Science as Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
Their appointments, according to a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar, Information/Public Relations Officer of the university, Chris Adaimaigbo, KSC, are sequel to the expiration of the tenures of the former deputy vice-chancellors- Prof. S. O. Uniamikigbo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. I. B. Igbinosa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), after each served under the present vice-chancellor for a period of four years.
The two acting deputy vice-chancellors whose appointments take effect from September 28, 2008, the statement says, would end on June 3, 2009 when the present tenure of the vice-chancellor of the university is expected to end.
The new appointees the statement reveals, have served as Heads of their Departments, Deans of their respective Faculties, in addition to holding other academic and administrative positions in the university.
Expressing the university management’s felicitations to the newly appointed acting deputy vice-chancellors, the statement equally expressed the university’s gratitude to immediate past deputy vice-chancellors who have returned to their respective departments, for their services to the university in their capacities as DVCs.
