Let’s Entrench A New Social Order

By MONDAY ESON

To keep Nigeria as one country united in purpose, is a task that must be done by all Nigerians. There is hunger, despair, looting, cheating, violence, vandalism and other vices in the land.

Construction works are going on in wealthy nations. Nigeria is a wealthy nation. The United Nations index for advancement of developing nations indicates that Nigeria has all the possible advantages to become a developed nation. This can be achieved with the judicious use of the wealth of the nation.

The reform programmes planned for Nigeria\should be the priority concern of the President and his team. The new political administration in Nigeria now must be strengthened, nurtured and maintained.
This is the season of change. This is our choice government. This is democracy.

President Yar'Adua

Since Nigeria’s economy depends mainly on oil revenue, let us utilize the oil money for development. And if Nigeria is an agricultural economy, ….what do we do for abundant food production? Spend oil money for food production to feed the people. We should be able to produce enough to feed ourselves and other people of the world.

How do we describ the true Nigerian attitude? Take consideration the virtues of truth, justice and peace, society and service, united community . The best thing that we can learn to what we teach ourselves. Let Mr. President and his team commence construction works on electricity, road, water supply, Housing Education, Infrastructures, Health Care, Food production, Security and Research, Communications and computerization.

Each state of the Federation should have additional staff to the police, Army, Navy Aitforce, Road safety, and War Against indiscipline corps should be set up as well as the oil industry surveillance. Equal numbers should be recruited in all states of the Federation before the end of 2008, working to make our lives better.

To the youths of this country, we can help ourselves, thereby uplifting the standard of the nation. Some of us are talented in different human endeavour which we can explore for self-development either by self sponsorship or by assisted sponsorship. Banks should give loans to youths and Adults with proven projects design. Everyday passes away and every day comes by … And the Nigerian Government will not be able to generate enough electricity to industrialize for its population until 2015, president Umaru Yar’Adua has said. Let us say, seven years from now… But if sufficient money is spent and expert Nigerians and foreign partners are used judiciously, this chance can be achieved before 2015… This is our chance to benefit from electricity which is very important for industrialization.

The president has not been slow to addressing the multifarious problems of Nigeria. Nigeria is the eight largest exporter of oil but does not generate enough electricity for its one hundred and forty million population. The president and His team and concerned Nigerians promised to act quickly to ensure adequate electricity supply to the Nigerian population and this is a major priority of this administration.

Mr. President has promised to use the revenue gained from the oil industry to resolve the electricity shortage and to improve many other sectors of the Nigerian economy. For example, education, infrastructures, science Universal Healthcare, Economy, energy and researches.

To eliminate corruption, to be trust worthy and accountable to the people and to be transparent public officers, who carry the general public along with administrative findings and functions, there must be discussion, debates and reports of ongoing works and works already done and research works into improving existing structures and maintenance of these structures and the environmental considerations.

To serve Nigeria with Love and strength and faith. To serve with heart and might one nation bound in freedom, peace, and unity. To serve Nigeria, to be faithful loyal and honest, synonymous to the Americans Kennedy’s slogan.. thinks of what you can do for Nigeria and see what Nigeria can do for you. As a Nigerian think of how to serve Nigeria.

In my opinion, the President and his team have not performed badly. People generally trust that the president and the governors will not steal the country blind again. People like the president’s rule of law policy even though quite frankly, most Nigerians don’t even consider what the concept means. Inspite of recent efforts to improve the working conditions of men and officers of the Nigeria police, the security agency is still unable to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians because of lack of vehicles, equipment and the required personnel.

Recruitment of youth and able bodied men and woman into the Nigeria police must be on now. What has reduced in some parts of the country is the number of police check points used for extorting money from motorists.. But we expect that with time, the police will return to the police discipline. The medical care must be improved. It is time now for the Nigeria police to ensure the concept of WAI, War Against Indiscipline in all places .. part of the police department is the WAI POLICE.. Recruitment must be going on now to have this police unit to help ensure discipline, and orderliness throughout the thirty six states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

This is to entrench a new social order for Nigeria. Corruption must be systematically wiped out of our ways of practice.

The British Government must ensure that further abeiting of Nigerian fraudulent gangsters and fraudsters must be stopped. They can hence restrict lawlessness in functions and in considerations… After all , it would be expected that Britain should continue to have good relations on clean, clear and constructive terms with the Nigeria new civilian government and the Nigerian people . After all, there are many British – Nigerians.

The press presentation towards the Nigeria advancement is what we consider to be more constructive and encouraging, and the release of militant News and their photographs and the release of the intended agitators must be reviewed by the federal security service for sovereignty responsibility. Nigeria is a sovereignty. The security concerned does not even call for foreign intervention. In terms of equipment there could be exchange in the area of weapon communication gadgets and in investigation technique. More Nigerian’s must be recruited into the Nigeria police force and the Army for civil guide.
