JOS- The Plateau Chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), alleged that the federal government was yet to pay its members N17b bridging claims.
The state IPMAN Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, who said this in Jos during an
interview with newsmen noted that the federal government promised to pay the claims since 2006.
Adamu, however, said the federal government was yet to fulfil its promise to marketers nationwide up till now.
The purpose of the money, he said, was for the transportation of petroleum products across the country.
According to him, the payment is being processed through Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), and the independent marketers are suffering as a result of the delay.
The IPMAN chairman said about 138 independent marketers were in Plateau.
Adamu said that a marketer could only be a member of IPMAN after signing the Bulk
Purchase Agreement with the PPMC.
