BENIN CITY – As the world marks this year’s International Ozone Day, today, the founder and the National Project Coordinator of Save the Ozone, Nigeria, an environmental Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), based in Benin City, Edo State, Mr. Ozaveshe Ade Balogun, has eulogised the Osunbor-led Administration in the state for putting measures in line with the NGO’s campaign that will make the environment safer and better for all to live in.
He made the commendation during a chat with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City, yesterday.
Mr. Balogun who is also a Vice President, Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA) noted with delight the inauguration of the taskforce known as “Operation Clean-Up Edo State” saddled with the responsibility of sweeping major roads, among others in Benin City, adding that it was a right step in the right direction.
He similarly commended the Chairman of the taskforce on Operation Clean-up Edo State who is also the Special Adviser to the Edo State governor on Sanitation and Beautification, Hon. Pat Adamu, describing her as a square peg in a square hole.
While noting that the sweeping of major roads in particular, had in no small measure raised the level of awareness on the need for residents especially of the state capital to keep their surroundings clean, the National Project Coordinator of Save the Ozone, Nigeria, appealed to those residing in Benin City, to complement government’s efforts by not dumping refuse/waste indiscriminately so as to make the impact of what is being done to make the environment safe and friendly by the state government to be felt by
