ABA – Enyimba International Football Club of Aba yesterday raised Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the semi finals stage of the on-going CAF Champions League when they humiliated Al-Hilal of Sudan by 4-1.
The match which was decided in the Aba Township Stadium saw the Nigerian Flagbearers leading by a lone goal at the end of the first half.
On resumption of the second half, the visitors having received instructions from their coach came into the game stronger creating spaces to open up Enyimba defence as thy fired shots at goal from the middle.
The system paid off for Al-Hilal as a Sudanese shot from the midfield sailed straight into the roof of the net to even scores with Enyimba.
The equalising goal seemed to be all Enyimba needed to wake up from their slumber, as hardly had the oviation died down for the Sudanese goal when Edo-born Monday Osagie scored the second goal for Nigeria in a set piece.
Thereafter it became Enyimba allt he way as Otorogu and Akueme added the 3rd and 4th goals to seal the hopes Al-Hilal in getting any point.
