A Nigerian staff Babatunde Ojo, of Qatar Airways from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, stole the show at the airline’s recently concluded global Customer Services Conference in Doha as he received the Annual Service Excellence Award for the best Customer Service person in the airline.
In a statement issued by the SY&T communications, this award is for delivering excellent customer service, dedication in the call of duty, always putting the customer first and emphasizing what is required to deliver five star services on the ground.
One particular example of this excellent performance according to the statement occurred when there was an equipment breakdown and shortage of staff which would have normally seriously delayed the aircraft’s departure.
Stating that, almost single handedly and without complaint, Babatunde loaded all the baggage into the baggage containers to ensure that the aircraft and passengers could depart with the minimum inconvenience.
Commenting on the award Andy Stern, Regional Manager Sub-Saharan Africa said it was a great example of the dedication of the Qatar Airways team in Nigeria which has lead to the increasing popularity of the airline.
His words; “ We are very proud of Babatunde and it’s great to see a Nigerian winning such a prestigious global award within Qatar Airways. Babatunde in a response said; “I am delighted to win this award but I was only doing my job”
