PORT HARCOURT- Former Ghanaian President, Mr. Jerry Rawlings says
that the Nigerian judiciary has “lived up to expectations”.
Rawlings, who made the remark on Tuesday in Port Harcourt at an interactive session with journalists, said that since the nation’s judiciary started maintaining its integrity, the political atmosphere had changed for good.
The former president stated that there had been positive political developments in the nation after the last general elections.
He commended the judiciary for standing up to its responsibility by giving unbiased judgments on cases involving electoral malpractice.
Rawlings said that the judiciary had portrayed and maintained its integrity in the society.
The former president also commended the Federal Government for non-interference and obedience to the rule of law.
He noted that for sustainable development to take place in every society, there must be sustainable leadership.
