IKEJA- The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced rehabilitation of the multi-billion naira Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Ikeja, Lagos.
Reports say that the facelift comes following dilapidation of facilities in the edifice, including leaking roofs and poor urinals.
Contractors were at work on the edifice on Tuesday as trucks moved in and out of the area as the rehabilitation got underway.
The Presidential Wing, where top government functionaries, visiting Presidents and Heads of State touch down, has been in a state of disrepair in recent past.
FAAN public affairs manager, Akin Olukunle, told newsmen that the facelift was being undertaken to ensure that the facility was in good condition.
He said that work at the site would be concluded in a couple of weeks.
It will be recalled that FAAN had been under fire for the poor state of the facility which is a gateway to many visiting dignitaries.
