CALABAR ––The Assistant Inspector — General of Police in charge of Zone 6, Bar. Azubuko Joel Udah, mni, was on Monday, October 13, 2008, conferred with an Award of Excellence by The Searchlight Newspaper in Calabar, Cross River State.
Shortly before presenting the Award of Excellence to the AIG, the Publisher of the Newspaper, Mr. Emmanuel Ugiagbe, stated that the newspaper as part of its effort to encourage Nigerians, especially those who had contributed their quota in various fields of human endeavour to the upliftment of the country, decided to map out strategies with a view to honouring such Nigerians to serve as a catalyst to make them do more for the betterment of the society.
Mr. Ugiagbe noted that the Searchlight Newspaper having closely monitored the commitment and dedication of Barr, Udah to duty when he was the AIG in charge of Zone 5, made up of Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states, decided to award him due recognition in appreciation of his outstanding commitment to effective community policing, combating of crime, transparency and service to humanity.
Responding , the AIG expressed delight that his contribution to society was being. appreciated and cherished. He thanked the Searchlight Newspaper for the honour done him, and assured that the award would ginger him to do more for the betterment of the society.
