BENIN CITY ––The Chairman, Etsako Central Local Government Council, Hon. Joseph Ayegbeni Ugheoke has pledged to uplift the living standard of his people through massive infrastructural and even development throughout his tenure in office.
Hon. Ugheoke gave the assurance while delivering an address at the 48th Independence anniversary ceremony which took place at the Usagbe Primary School ground, recently in Fugar, the headquarters of the local government.
He assured the people of his administration’s commitment to serve them conscientiously as a way of reciprocating the trust reposed in him and disclosed that in the past nine months of the present administration, the council had executed series of capital projects that were evenly spread across the 10 wards of the local government area, saying that some of the projects had been completed while others had reached advanced stages of completion.
Hon. Ugheoke said that the present administration had approved the total sum of N25,000 each as bursary to a total of 33 indigenous students of Etsako Central Local Government area studying at the Nigeria Law School and final year medical students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma. He said that he had equally paid the tuition fees of some indigent students in tertiary institutions.
