USELU ––The Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Hon. Crosby Osadolor Eribo has assured that his administration will hold the traditional institution in high esteem.
Hon. Eribo gave the assurance yesterday when he led members of his cabinet on courtesy visits to the palaces of the Enogie of Egor, HRH (Dr.) P.U. Ogiegor and the Enogie of Useh, Olomoza Eweka.
Speaking at the palace of the Ogiegor, Hon. Eribo commended the Royal Father for his contributions during the last census exercise which culminated in the high number of persons counted in the locality.
The council boss disclosed that the new population figure in Egor Local Government Area which was over 300,000 had made it possible for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to create two additional constituencies in the locality.
He assured that funds allocated to the council would be used judiciously to provide for the basic needs of the people which include roads, water, electricity and other infrastructural development.
Hon. Eribo also promised to provide the community with a generating plant to enable it pump water regularly from the existing borehole in the area.
He also assured the Enogie that a befitting police post would be provided for the community in addition to a 500 KVA transformer to boost electricity supply to the community.
Hon. Eribo informed his host that the administration planned to construct one kilometre road in each of the 10 wards, adding that the road leading to the palace of the Ogiegor had been chosen by the councillor representing Ward 4, Hon. Osaretin Olaye for asphalting.
Earlier, the Ogiegor had in a welcome address read on his behalf by a member of the community, congratulated the council boss on his victory at the Appeal Tribunal.
