NFF Ready To Support Eagles

ABUJA - The Nigeria Football Federation are prepared to give the Super Eagles full administrative support to ensure that they qualify for the 2010 World Cup when they enter the final phase of qualifying next year.

NFF Chief Media Officer Demola Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com that the Eagles would lack for nothing as they go into the business end of the campaign.

“The General Secretary Bolaji-Ojo-Oba has assured that everything will be done to ensure that the team is well prepared for the final phase,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com.

“Everything that will equate to adequate prepararion will be done. Right now, we are looking to throw in a couple more friendlies. There is a FIFA window in February which we are looking to exploit and then we have to make sure the players have all they need when they come to play.”

Nigeria, notorious for rows between players and officials, have come through this campaign with not even the suggestion of drama. Six wins from six games has been the result, and Olajire explains how the FA pulled it off.

“It is all about sincerity. The federation was sincere with the players in that we letthem know what could be done and what could not be done.

“Bonuses were agreed upon and paid on time, and where we needed to, we flew the players out on chartered flights to minimise the discomfort they would experience from airport delays.

“We also ensured that players got their invitation letters in good time.”

These prompt attentions to detail has earned the federation praise from Eagles skipper Nwankwo Kanu and going forward, Olajire said the FA would be doing even more in order to ensure that nothing is left to chance.

“By the time we see the draws, we will make decisions regarding logistics for the players. We will also discuss with them in the same open atmosphere that has worked so far so that we can tackle issues quickly, fairly and sincerely.”

It is not only the players who will feel the new wave of detente from the federation.
“The coach Shuaibu Amodu will be off to Manchester United very soon for a few weeks.
