ANUNSA Holds Rally Today

BENIN CITY –The University of Benin Chapter of the All Nigeria United Nations Students and Youth Association (ANUNSA) will organize a peaceful rally today to commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.


The procession which will commence at 11am will take off at the Vice Chancellor’s office through the office of the Dean of Students’ Affair and end at the Halls of residence.


In a statement by its President, Theophilus Ibodeme and Secretary General Airemen Uwagbale, it recalled that the day was set aside by the United Nations to enlighten the world on the scourge of poverty, its challenges and ways to combat it.


ANUNSA which propagates the principles and ideals of the United Nations is the students and youth wing of the United Nations and the Nigeria branch of the international Students and Youths Movement for the United Nations (ISMUN) which as an international Non Governmental Organisation comprises of students and youth association from over 150 countries across the globe including Nigeria.


ISMUN has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
