Zamfara To Increase Maize Production

GUSAU -The Zamfara Comprehensive Agricultural Revolution Programme (ZACAREP) has introduced double row maize cropping technology for enhanced productivity.

The Programme Coordinator, Alhaji Dahiru Lawali, said this in Gusau in an interview with newsmen.

He said the new technology was being introduced for the first time in the state to increase maize production and guarantee food security.

He said that improvement in the output of maize would facilitate growth of the economy of the state and reduce poverty among the agrarian communities.

He said that the government had already provided fertiliser and other chemicals to farmers at subsidised rate.
