Rotary Donates Bus To Project Charilove

BENIN CITY ––The Rotary Club of Oregbeni (District 9140), Benin City in partnership with Rotary club of Arlington Heights Sunrise (District 6440), U.S.A. recently donated a brand new 14-seater bus to Project Charilove, to facilitate the operations of its humanitarian activities.


Project Charilove is a Non-Governmental Organisation which operates a unique group of special schools and integrated rehabilitation centers in Benin City and its environs.


Speaking at the official presentation ceremony, the District Governor, Rotary Club, District 9140, Lady Elizabeth Nwankwu, commended the initiators of the Charilove Centre, adding that it was a noble cause to take care of physically challenged persons in the society.


Lady Nwankwu who thanked the Rotary Club of Oregbeni for their kind gesture in identifying with project Charilove, however urged them to do more for the neglected ones in the society in line with the Rotary’s vision of being their brother’s keeper.


On her part, the president, Rotary Club of Oregbeni (District 9140), Rotarian Kate Onyemali who expressed her gratitude to Rotary international partners for their support in the execution of the project, expressed optimism that the management of the centre would use the bus essentially for the benefit of the inmates.


Responding on behalf of the Charilove board of Directors, the co-ordinator General, Mr. Chris Omusi thanked the Rotary Club for the donation of the bus which he said would eliminate mobility constraints of the centre.
